It hurt him but not so much that he was anti-gun as that he was a foreigner who came across as telling Americans what to do. Liberal or conservative, Americans tend to be uniformly hostile to being ‘instructed’ in that fashion from someone who is not ‘one of us’.

Especially when that someone is as bombastic as Piers Morgan.

I tend to agree. I can’t think of anyone who liked him even when they did agree with him.
