You’d have to look all the way back to the Ottoman Empire to see a period when there was “peace”. After WWI, colonial powers divided and conquered, and regional powers began developing. Cold War, etc.

But there was conflict too. Ottomans in the Balkans (Turkey is ME, so yeah, that’s a conflict). Libya and Italy got into it as well (when Libya was nominally part of the Ottoman Empire).
