Just for completeness, Fhrer could also be translated. It means “leader”.

Many years ago my church choir did a tour of southern Germany, hosted by churches there of the same denomination. One night we attended a youth group meeting where games were played. It came as a surprise to me when one of the German kids said (all in German, but I understood the gist): “I’ll be the Fhrer.” To me at the time the word meant only Hitler, but to them it was simply “leader”.
