Sanitation employees posing work slowdown? Residents, workers say yes; city, union say no
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Are Sanitation Department workers conducting a slowdown on the job today?
As Staten Island residents complain about the poor snow removal efforts by the city, about a dozen people have called the Advance to report abandoned and/or stuck plows and salt spreaders. Employees, they say, aren’t in a hurry to get them working again and some have been left for several hours.
