Random utterance: Oklahoma did a pretty poor job of recording information until recently. Yeah, I know it wasn’t a state until the 20th century, but the county in which I am looking doesn’t even appear to have had a working clerks office for quite some time.
2nd random utterance: it’s unfathomable to me why states don’t have their records digitized and online by now. Massachusetts seems to be leading the pack here; most states’ offices are acting like they don’t even know there are things called “computers” which could make all of this much easier than doing everything by hand.
