My current quandary, I’ve got 8 years of USMC training, certifications and and 15 years total experience working in the field, but don’t have enough college units to qualify for a degree.

A friend of mine has been working in IT for …at least 10 years, and is just finishing up his bachelor’s because his current position is at a college (one of the for-profit ones, I think) and he could take classes for free.

Maybe consider what the education benefits of whatever the next job is?
