Sort of. Both the Communists and the Nazis had substantial pluralities before the 1932 elections, and none of the center right or center left parties could or would cooperate to sideline the extremists (or simply feared the communists more than the Nazis)

After the July and then November 1932 elections, it was mathematically impossible to form a government without the Nazis or the Communists. Those two parties won over 50 percent of the vote between them. The choice to back the extremist who didn’t have a major foreign power funding his operation seemed the lesser of two evils.
