True, I’ll grant you that much, provided you can agree that the record of the economic success of a person prior to the current crisis is largely irrelevant to the wisdom of policies intended to correct them.

Unless, of course, one suggests that Romney’s success somehow undermines the President’s policies, in which case I’d be interested to learn how that works.
