Is it? If you believe that God is omniscient, knowing everything that will ever happen, and omnipotent, having absolute control over everything that happens, doesn’t that necessarily mean that God is ultimately responsible for everything?
But it’s also a double-edged sword, because you have to believe that a god with such power either is responsible for evil in the world or allows evil to happen, which sort of contradicts the whole “benevolent and caring deity” bit.
