A Democratic Frankfort city councilman is going to run, too, I hear.

Yep. Also Nancy Jo Kemper, former executive director of Council of Churches here in the state is planning to run.

Good luck to him. Don’t know much about him obviously but I’d love to see Rand’s career go to the toilet. What do you think about his chances?

Rand is not very popular, but has the advantage of low turnout hurting any Democrats chances. With Hillary assumed to be the nominee, that could help turnout among those Blue Dogs that are still left in the state. Gray is not in any sense a Liberal Democrat, and his family business is well known in the state. Lexington doesn’t run partisan candidates for city offices, so outside the area he is not know as a Democrat at all. He is openly gay, but once again, it is not well known in many parts of the state, but it would only make a difference with people who wouldn’t vote for him anyway.

The people of Lexington would love to vote for him, but hate to see him leave his post as Mayor. He has been amazing for the city(we really haven’t had a Mayor who wasn’t in my lifetime). He could show Chris Christie how to handle snow events in your city.
