He tried the other day by inviting moderate House Dems to lunch, thinking he could work one or more over to his side. They told him “Thanks, but not thanks,” and it left him dining with people who have no control over the situation, no doubt on the cold leftovers from his big publicity stunt with the Clemson players the day before.

Hence why he’s back to “She won’t let them negotiate!,” because he’s so used to demanding the loyalty of others that he thinks that’s how it works everywhere, hence any Dems refusing to work with him are doing so because Nancy/Schumer won’t let them and not because he’s a known liar and cheat.
