you want them to remember the story, or remember the parts in question? with 8th graders, it’s one or the other.

did i say it was too much of itself? no. i said it was distracting from the literature.

Sorta like how the racial language in Mark Twain books distracts from the literature? Oh, wait, we were assigned those in jr. high school as well.
