I’m sure people saw this nonsense yesterday. A young woman decided to go to graduation with a AR-15 slung on her shoulder.
I have no apologies for my graduation photos. As a woman, I refuse to be a victim & the second amendment ensures that I don’t have to be. pic.twitter.com/5CKmQobrMb

All the shootings where good guys with guns failed to stop a shooter.
All the shootings where law enforcement was surprised and fired on before they had a chance.
Being heavily armed doesn’t make you safer. It isn’t a deterrent.
It makes them a target.— lawhawk (@lawhawk) May 17, 2018
And yeah, it’s dumbassery. Having that gun doesn’t make her any safer. It’s slung on her shoulder and is an accessory just like a handbag. In the time it would take for her to get it into a firing position, she’d likely be dead or injured because the bad guy will have already gotten the drop on her. As she fumbles for the safety and tries to get the gun up and facing the bad guy, the bad guy will have gotten off rounds.
It’s just more fantasyland nonsense that the NRA spews that a good guy with a gun will stop a bad guy or that the armed population is a safer population.
