re: #152 Unshaken Defiance

Well we are both better off than the poor folks in Flint so that’s something. We do the same kind of well water testing at the shooting range. By the way, does your fire safety code call for sprinklers in commercial building fed by well water? No water main at all? Inquiring rebuilders would like to know. :-)

The only buildings in town with sprinklers are the village hall and the fire hall. (That’s primarily because our businesses are very small.) They are fed from the water main, meaning the water is not filtered (filtration is only at point-of-use for consumption.)

If for example the village hall sprinklers went off, everyone would be leaving the village hall and library. No one would be drinking the water.

I have a PDF file of the entirety of the village ordinances (282 pages) on my computer. According to the section regarding fire safety (which would include sprinklers), the village’s ordinance says the village will comply with state law.

§7-202 FIRE PREVENTION; FIRE PREVENTION CODE.

The rules and regulations promulgated by the office of the State Fire Marshal of the State of Nebraska relating to fire prevention are incorporated by reference into this Code and made a part of this Article as though spread at large herein together with all subsequent amendments thereto. One (1) copy of the Fire Prevention Code shall be on file with the Municipal Clerk and shall be available for public inspection at any reasonable time. (Ref. 18-132, 19-902, 19-922, 81-502 RS Neb.)
