That’s what I recall as well. Either way I don’t think it’s their choice. I’m pretty sure our congress has the final say. I can’t see why I’d object to statehood for Puerto Rico. Seems fine to me but I don’t think there’s a secret plot to make it happen.

Only in the sense that they would have to petition FOR statehood. It’s not like Congress will just meet one day and say “you know what, lets make em a state”

SO ,,, if PR as an entity does NOT want statehood they won’t get it unless they start the ball rolling
