Never would have met my Slovenian cousin without FB too so that’s another plus. Social media is just like any emerging technology. I’m certain that the emergence of telephones had people decrying the decline of the written letter too. Won’t argue with anyone who thinks Zuck is a jerk but his platform works in a lot of ways that go beyond simple communication.

Happy, I think you are making a comparison that doesn’t work.

No one opened letters and made copies and stored them for use by others to use.

And when phones started, no one recorded all the conversations and stored them for others to use.

Though now with cell phones, you probably do have everything recorded.

There is this word people used to both be very aware of and protective of and that is privacy.

Seems people don’t care about that anymore, or are not really that aware of how their privacy is impacted by Facebook.

Can that word be used with Facebook?
