Boehner would react to that be refusing to do so. That would have happy effect of the birthers flouncing from the GOP, which would be a very good thing for the party.

It would be interesting to see if any of the new tea party representatives would provide any sound bites sympathetic to the birfers. When half of the GOP base doubts the President’s citizenship, its difficult for politicians to completely write them off as crazy.
