Perhaps it’s time to bring back the draft. Perhaps if more people knew their kid could get shipped off to war when they turned 18, there would be less pressure to solve every world crisis with military intervention.

Look back on 20th century history and see how often that kept us out of wars. Even for the two big ones, it only lasted for a little while.
