When I said upstairs that we struggle to define “good”, I remembered what a pain in the ass it was reading about Socrates. I don’t think he was executed for impiety, I think he got it for being the ultimate pain in the ass.

But seriously, it can really be tricky to define good. But I can say that the same processes that led to our development (which we generally think of as a good thing) also lead to diseases and accidents and other horrible outcomes.
