It’s only fair for black activists to be in the military now. In the 1950’s and 60’s the military units in the South were overtly confederate. RFK complained after a visit to an Arkansas National Guard unit in the Segregation conflict that the bases he visited all were flying Confederate flags and none had the stars and stripes.
