Upon looking at some of the past threads, I wanted to comment in one place on several things.

First off, “settlements” in Jerusalem. I loathe that word in this context. Jerusalem is the City of David, the king of the Jews. You do not “settle” your own city any more than you colonize your own land. Further, Arabs get to build all over the place in E. Jerusalem and they get supported by the Israeli Government (welfare, medical care utilities etc…). To claim that Jews do not get to build a apartment in their own city when the Arabs already are receiving all of the rights and privileges of living in Israel, is to say that they have more rights than Jews do in their own homeland.

It is certainly true that the US has walked a fine line between being Israel’s friend and maintaining the flow of Arab oil since long before Obama. The State Dept and all the actions of the American gov’t are not always friendly or honest in regards to Israel.

This will persist as long as Arab states have oil leverage over America. That is the real lobby with power.
