Beckian Survivalist: “Say there, Jorge, I sure would like a bag of that coffee you brought on that wagon of yours.”

Mexican trader: “Er, what you give for it?”

Beckian: “Why, a solid gold Krugerrand, genuine, apartheid era no less.”

Trader: (Mumbling) “Norteno loco.” (Louder) “What I do with gold? I can’t eat gold, neither can my mules.”

Beckian: (Desperate now) “Er, what will you take?”

Trader: “Well, your neighbor offer brand new Levi’s, my size even, and a stack of Penthouse magazines.”

Beckian: “I don’t have stuff like that! Two Krugerrands then!”

Trader: “Can’t eat two either. Have a good day.”
