re: #150 Dark_Falcon

Pakistan’s condition is terminal. What should be done is a pursuit of an end to the Cold War with Iran. That will be we can pull out of the Persian Gulf. In addition, Once we leave Afghanistan, cut Pakistan’s aid. It is doing no good, they have been supporting the Taliban now for probably something like 20 years, and I find it hard to believe that the ISI, with all its links to these guys, that they had no foggy clue about the 9/11 plot.

Unfortunately, that means Afghanistan will have to suffer. Afghanistan won’t improve until Pakistan is weaker and out of the picture. The only thing we can do for the Afghanis is offer some sort of scheme for people to leave like what we did in Vietnam. Parts of the American West and the Appalachians are similar to Afghanistan (Yes, there are some very green areas in Afghanistan).

Right now, the US should prepare for the eventual disintegration of Pakistan. The Balochs already want to leave as a result of brutalization of them by both the Pakistani Government, and their Taliban proxies.
