Incredibly, after Henry Wallace was bounced from VP in ‘44, and the losing Progressive ticket in ‘48, he ended up supporting Nixon in 1960.

Pretty amazing we still have guys like Pete Seeger as a bridge to those times- and it was awesomely ballsy to run a civil rights campaign in the South.

And he was was one hell of a chicken farmer.

I read that. Still don’t know the exact reasons why he ended up being a Nixon supporter. And yeah, he was very courageous to do what he did on Civil Rights. I think I read that his running mate actually got elected for breaking the segregation laws. And your point about Seeger got me thinking about my grandmother whom was born not long after the epic 1912 election.
