Right, and I meant the same thing. None of this came up during the Bush Administration when he was up for a Court of Appeals job. But the difference between that appointment and this one is the difference between… I’m not even sure what.

Any decent Republican strategist/operative would have been able to find out about this stuff a head of time and advise to go with someone else. Hell, the GOP staffers on the Hill apparently knew before the news broke, so they’re not all morons.
