So far, the system has been successful in 16 out of 19 tests and actual use of the system (in shooting down a space satellite in low orbit). This has caused the navy to shift more resources to equipping ships, already having the AEGIS anti-aircraft system, with software upgrades and the SM-3 anti-missile missiles.
