The thing is we weren’t protesting, the intent was to be a kind of prototype digital citizen media. Months beforehand when the conference was announced I just knew it was going to be an epic scene that me and my friends would regret missing out on. IndyMedia grew out of dozens of different groups organizing and expressing those same thoughts, it ended up much less impartial and more activist than anybody in my group wanted at the time. In the end it was about sharing an experience, most of our material was never published.
