I was on a gymnastics team as a kid. The uniforms killed my single Mom’s budget. One was this really fancy white leotard. Completely see-through. A very expensive fail.

Why would they make them see-through, and why would a parent expect a kid wear one?

I wish the stigma of public nudity was a thing of the past, but it isn’t and a lot of kids get really embarrassed about others seeing their bodies. It doesn’t make sense to have see-through swim attire available for anybody but serious adult competitors.
