I have remained assertive and strong. It is however not just not my claim that is stalled.
The insurance companies all use subcontractors for inspectors. Many of these people do the inspections as second jobs. The first inspector came from Florida, three weeks after the storm. The second inspection was 2 weeks after that one.
I’m now through two of my own privately hired structural engineer inspections. Now they’re slowly moving the paperwork up their chains of command at the Texas Windstorm Catpool. The Flood policy still has not even yet completed all it’s inspections.
The Board of Insurance gave them until the end of January to submit all the claims for Ike.
I think it will be quite awhile yet before any of us sees any payments from our insurance companies.

That’s too bad. Seems like the right way is always the longest.
