Viaduct?

Growing up in Vancouver, B.C., it used to be an adventure to drive over the Georgia Viaduct with my parents. And one of the sights to be seen from that structure was a large gasometer, a storage vessel for town gas.

Both the gasometer and the old Georgia Viaduct are now long gone, the former having been rendered redundant by the advent of natural gas pipelines, and the latter’s old steel structure being replaced by a modern concrete elevated roadway.
