Guy at my LBS, who used to be a domestiq back in the 60’s always said Bottecchia’s were made by criminals. Literally. Prison labor.

Interestingly, a lot of old framebuilder names have been bought up and get stuck on generic carbon and aluminum frames from China. Where they may well be made by prison labor!
