I suspect you may be right, but I’d have to visit Naples to be sure. ;)
As for Italian food, I generally don’t disagree, if you’re considering the stuff that you get at chains or out of a box. A real live Italian cook with a real Italian grandmother’s recipe, on the other hand, is a whole different story. Think of it like the difference between getting a Reuben from a gas station versus going to a Brooklyn delicatessen.
And there’s the catch. I have no Italian mother or grandmother. :) But then again my sister in law makes good pasta so maybe she’s got some Italian ancestry she doesn’t know about heh.
