re: #139 ausador

If I leave for a month to rehab I expect this condo to be stripped out to the bare walls by the time I get back, I really do. My condo will still be under lease for another four months beyond that, it raises serious questions of where I am going to live afterwards. I am anxious as hell and hoping I don’t get stabbed in the back too deeply, but I also expect that I will be. :(

You’ll handle what you have to handle.

Right Now, deal with Right Now… .

ausador, friends of mine have dealt with chemical dependencies. It looked to me like they’d permanently impaired their prospects, but things haven’t turned out that way for them.

They tell me that dealing with the issue has been like getting drafted. You think you’ll never get out of the bleepin’ Army. Then one day you’re walking off post with your separation papers.

One day you realize you have your life back.

My friends would probably agree with ggt’s advice. (They say the scariest part was not necessarily going to rehab, but if things continued to deteriorate after they got out. But that phase passes.)
