Heh, my mom used to make something similar, but using only shredded carrots, raisins, and Miracle Whip.

People stopped using mayo a long time ago. Sometimes, though, I make it w/mayo just for the hell of it. : ) No one eats it but me anyway, so no need to make more than I can eat in a few days.
