I feel really bad for him, but he put a lot of other people in danger, including his own family.

I’m starting to think that, yes, he knew he was exposed. OTOH, he knew if he was actually infected, he was going to die for lack of treatment, just like the pregnant woman to whom he was exposed and, if indeed infected, he had a better chance to survive here in the USA, even if it was Texas.
