TPP was a tough sell on the left as well. It was complex, especially since it was a diplomatic treaty wrapped in an economic one. It wasn’t all that popular, and I’m pretty sure if Clinton had tried to explain it, CNN would have shown Trump’s podium.

Yep its complexity made it easy for Sanders and Trump to misrepresent it to an audience understandably not versed in these deals.
