It’s probably going to be about Hillary Clinton’s emails, Biden’s foreign entanglements and the epic final triumph of the best President ever over the Democrats and the deep state. Unless the economy crashes.

So our weekly conversation yesterday with our Texas brother briefly devolved into a shouting match, but it all ended on a congenial note — where we switched to other issues that didn’t involve Trump.

My brother obviously gets some daily briefing that provides the standard GOP talking points. He started with some 1999 agreement with Ukraine — and then ranted about how all the Democrats were going to be wearing orange jump suits and how criminal and depraved Hunter Biden was and then lambasted those unelected government bureaucrats. I think the last part was probably tied to the “deep state” theory and the necessity of purging anyone who doesn’t worship Trump, but we changed topics and didn’t pursue that line.

However a non-Trump part of the conversation was a revelation of what the GOP wants: my brother lavished praise on Singapore for being wealthy and crime-free, a paradise on earth with a content population who live very comfortably. When I mentioned the part that they are basically a dictatorship without freedom — he shrugged and thought that was irrelevant. The entire GOP really doesn’t care about personal freedom, especially free speech.
