Good post overall. Feel obligated (channeling my late dad here) a cannon is a crew served weapon.

SFZ’s comments on a militia & remembering the Swiss model is interesting to roll into it to. I’ve pondered the idea of allowing anyone who was 18+ to register as a militia member, successfully complete training & be issued a government rifle & handgun. Bi-annual proficiency testing with government ammunition required. But that would explode too many heads on both the far left and far right.

And yes, militia members would be eligible for call up by the state government for service in time of emergency as I see this organization.
