What’s more telling is what happens in response to comments like those.

If he were a Republican candidate, it would probably increase his support in the primary.

Since he’s a Democrat, I suspect it will result in the opposite.

But hey, most people are smart enough to realize that there are going to be racists in both parties. I end up paying more attention to what the party policies are, and there is a substantial difference there.

It’s a breath-takingly stupid remark to make in the most Hispanic state in the union. It makes him look like an outsider, which he is. Susana may be from Texas, but to New Mexicans, El Paso is almost in-state. And she has lived in NM a hell of a lot longer than Webber has.
