That’s too bad because I think these museums do more good. The problem the National Holocaust Museum had in its creation, and it took nearly a decade of planning, was whose point of view of the holocaust to include.

It has taken longer for a museum dedicated to African Americans/Slavery to appear on the mall. I would never say oh look at those white folks salivating over those shackles. Slavery and the Holocaust are both undeniable human tragedies which cause collective trauma amongst millions of victims. We must allow these events to be remember in order to facilitate healing and understanding.
