My best friend and I searched the skys for Sputnik - nights on end - never saw it.
I too am a nut cake dyed in the wool science/technology fruit loop. Your brothers flew me around Vietnam and SEAsia in Beachcraft Queenair’s with Kingair wings - forget the designation just now. Also Elmer Fudds when the Navy provided transport to Yankee Station. Built my first rocket in 1958 ish.
