Nope. The science says that the poles will warm more frequently than the equator as AGW progresses. The science also says that such differentials are better predictors of storm intensity than overall global temps. Lack of such differentials, therefore, should not cause furor about future storm intensities.

If it were otherwise, you would find an increase in very strong hurricanes and very strong tornadoes in the past century correlated with the [quite real] increase in temperatures in the past century.

Should you find such a correlation, i recommend that you apply immediately for large funding, because i think you’d be the first.

Remember, it helps no one to hype global warming when solid evidence is lacking. We have enough trouble convincing the remaining doubters/deniers with the solid evidence we already possess. Making claims unsupported by the existing science only serves to make deniers think there’s some ‘agenda’ behind the scenes.
