I can def relate to that. I’ve lost count of how many bosses act out revenge for not having the completely homogenous-looking workplace they feel entitled to. So unprofessional. The best bosses are like the best parents, who can trust their own managerial/parenting skills.

Many of the workplace problems I’ve seen are people who bring in their personal baggage to the workplace. The last shop I worked at (mentioned above) was a “revenge of the nerds” type scenario. A gay guy and a couple fat chicks, who probably had a hard time in high school, suddenly found themselves in charge of a dozen male employees. I don’t think they even realized they were acting out a revenge scenario.
