My theory is as follows: Comey was supposed to get something from Trump and did not. Now he (Comey) is going all out on Trump.

trump attacked the security agencies - even before he took office. Didn’t want any security briefings - not interested in any way. Suddenly the FBI and CIA become the best of friends and the Russia investigated gets ramped up.
