Again, the market is at best a mechanism to help balance supply and demand and to direct capital flows to where they can do the most benefit.

The Randy Aynnies of America have made it into an ideology: an unregulated market as some idealized natural state of human existence and interaction to be striven for. It is not.

We have proven, time and again, that an unregulated free market is essentially anti-human in its nature. It makes no account of safety or health of the people that participate in it. The only way to have a “free” market that respects the liberty and sanctity of its participants is to regulate it, and quite heavily at that.
