re: #164 Feline Emperor of the Conservative Waste

Time to go get another cup of coffee. Just tossed a grenade email into my bosses in-box (and a few other managers as well) indicating that there are a dozen or so security requests hung up in processing because someone is not making the final approval to allow work to be done on them.

(I am essentially sick right now of being badgered about requests that I have already done my analysis and approval of; e.g. my part of the processing loop is complete. But I’m the visible part of the process and thus get nudged constantly about it. The most frustrating part of this really is that I have the security authority and access to do 80% of this work, but am restricted from doing so by the process rules. So I am watching efficiency and service being killed by bureaucracy.)

What’s happening to these requests? Is someone slacking off, or is the approval committee composed of cats (cats tend to spend most of their time sleeping on requests, sometimes literally)?
