That these guys weren’t suicide bombers and apparently didn’t have a viable escape plan leads me to suspect that the older brother was a self-radicalized malcontent who sucked his younger brother into it.

IMO, and others have said it already, is that self-radicalization is even more worrisome than organized, planned attacks.

Whatever the case, it’s all so damned selfish, stupid, and senseless.

I think you are right. The only thing that makes me still wonder though is if its true they were fairly well stocked, where did they get all that. Does someone need training to build the type of bombs they had or can one really google it? Btw even if they did find themselves training and some supplies it still is, imo, a self initiated act of an ideological older brother and a psychologically and spiritually empty younger brother.
