For years I grew hybrid tea roses, and frankly they looked better than most peoples’, a lot better. Others remarked on the quality.
How it was done: Besides the long term (multi-year) soil enrichment plan, and the correct watering schedule, the key trick is to know that it takes a few years of careful grooming of a newly planted plant - pruning away the bad parts and the unwanted growth, but being careful not to cut too much or in the wrong place, in order to get outstanding plants.
