Long ago I read a scifi short whose premise was that a peaceful world decided to connect together all of the computers there were. At the story’s end, the protagonist is explaining how the deed will be done once he throws this last switch. He asks aloud, “I wonder if there really is a God?” Lightning fuses the last switch closed and a thunderous voice answers, “There is now!”

These days, I expect my Roku to present a list of demands.
