China cares only for China. The rest of the world can just go fuck itself, as far as Chinese leaders are concerned.

China is expanding its economic influence and “soft diplomacy” into Africa, which the USA pretty much ignores. It’s sending signals it wants Taiwan back. Hong Kong’s autonomy is slowly being eroded. It’s using a 600-year-old map to say it has a legal claim over islands that are closer to Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines than to China. And it’s cozying up to Russia again.

The US doesn’t ignore Africa, there are troops in off the top of my head, 4 countries right now, and close relations with many others. The problem is corrupt Africa governments love China more because they get free money no strings attached and all the bribes they can stuff in their Swiss and Dubai bank accounts. America likes to promote human rights and fighting corruption and corrupt people do not like that.
